Our History
In the mid-19th century, just before Ceylon gained independence, a determined young Mathew Gunaratne moved to Colombo, eager to dive into the emerging printing industry. By 1946, with extensive experience and some initial capital, he founded “Gunaratne Printers” on Driebergs Avenue, Maradana, Sri Lanka. The business thrived and transitioned to the second generation, evolving into Gunaratne Offset (Pvt) Ltd under the leadership of Mathew’s five sons. In response to growing demands for specialized printing services, GTC Converters (Pvt) Ltd was established in 2002.
Representing the third generation, Ranjith Gunaratne’s daughter, Rajitha, carried forth the family legacy further by expanding services into digital printing, with the launch of “Xpress Digital Printshop” in 2014, later becoming “GTC Xpress (Pvt) Limited.”
Today, Rajitha and her husband Viran have expanded this legacy into Canada with a new branch in Greater Vancouver. They are thrilled to be expanding their digital print network, demonstrating their expertise to British Columbians and local businesses with innovative design technology, dedicated customer service and exceptional printing services.
